We do things a little differently at Aurora Lumis Animal Wellness!

Many groomers charge based on breed but at Aurora we use time-based pricing.

We want to develop recurring care rather than one-time appointments.

Maintenance Pricing

Dogs maintained on their recommended grooming schedule receive regular pricing.

Restoration Pricing

Dogs requiring substantially more professional time because of coat condition, infrequent grooming, excessive undercoat, matting, or other factors are charged according to the additional time and labour required.

Every puppy begins with our gentle introductory grooming process to build confidence and comfort over time.

The first appointment is brief and tailored to your puppy. We assess their temperament and introduce gentle brushing and nail trimming. If they are comfortable, we may also include a bath. What we complete depends on how relaxed or unsure they feel that day.

We also consider their breed, coat type and future grooming needs, from regular brushing and bathing to gradually accepting clippers and haircuts.

After the first visit, we’ll discuss a temporary schedule suited to your puppy:

Relaxed puppies:

Appointments every two to three weeks, gradually introducing more of the grooming process until they are ready for a full service.

Anxious puppies:

Shorter, more frequent appointments to build trust and familiarity at their own pace.

Some puppies are ready after two or three introductory appointments, while others need more time. Every puppy is different, and a gradual approach helps make grooming a positive experience.

We work at your puppy’s comfort level.

Their readiness determines what we accomplish, rather than an owner’s expectations for a particular haircut or timeline.
